Condoms and Razorblades
03:30
|
|||
You surprised me once at my place
So we bought condoms and razorblades to shave my face
One of those items went to waste
Which one I haven’t the heart to say
Later, I dreamt that I saw you bare,
Chasing the ghosts that just weren’t there,
Or, if they were, they didn’t seem to care
So I ran next to you in the warm glare
And you said,
“He was nice, he took me for a ride,
But the moment I met you
I’d fallen in love.”
Back then we used to make fun of ourselves
For looking for guidance, asking for help
Baby, I’ve been having trouble taking care of myself
No one’s ever gotten to know me so well
No one’s ever gotten to know me so well

Mockingbird
03:55
|
|||
Used to be the sweetest girl in town
Now your mockingbird don’t sing like it used to
Traded your diamond ring for some hand-me-downs
Said it wouldn’t really shine like you wanted it to
Could’ve been my baby all along
Now you’re going to find a man who’ll better suit you
I would’ve loved you forever more
Now I’m lying in bed – every night, waiting to hold you
Hush my girl – don’t you say another word to that mockingbird
Hush my girl – if your diamond ring cannot sing,
Then your mockingbird will
Had you diamond wrapped around in sheets,
In the finest satin – and came over,
You couldn’t help but keep,
Yourself from holding on,
Now you’re gone, and now you’re gone
Hush my girl – don’t you say another word to that mockingbird
Hush my girl – since that diamond cannot sing,
Then your mockingbird will
Oh, it seems we have a problem:
You’re depressed but you won’t admit it!
All your friends seem to have trouble with
The thought of you being so sick.
And we know that it’s a problem, but,
Frankly we know that isn’t going to work out so,
Everybody’s down on themselves while
You’re stuck feeling sorry for yourself….
Hush my girl – don’t you say another word to that mockingbird
Hush my girl – if that diamond ring will not sing,
Then your mockingbird will
You used to be the sweetest girl in town
Now your mockingbird don’t sing like it used to
So hush my girl - if your diamond ring cannot sing,
Then your mockingbird will

Chloe
04:20
|
|||
Chloe, I love you, you know I do.
It’s just so hard to find you there.
All dressed in white; trapped in the snow again.
But, Chloe, I’m going to find you there.
Well,
Everybody knows your name,
But they don’t know you like I do, no they don’t.
Everybody asks to please you
But they won’t please you, no they won’t.
Because,
Love ain’t nothing much, ain’t going to be my one or two.
I wasn’t made for that – now I think about that all the time.
If you were so enticed I could be your one and only.
You know I love you, Chloe, Chloe.
I could fall out of your bed,
Crawl back, asking for more.
Chloe, you asked me once why I walked through that door,
It’s been years and I’m still not sure.
Well,
Everybody wants to know,
Each and every one of the steps in the games that you play.
But they don’t know if you made it up or not, or,
Just stole them from cliché…
Because,
Love ain’t nothing much, ain’t going to be my one or two.
I wasn’t made for that – now I think about that all the time.
If you were so enticed I could be your one and only.
You know I love you, Chloe, Chloe.
You know I love you, Chloe, Chloe.
You know I love you, Chloe, Chloe.

Baby It's Hard
02:55
|
|||
Baby don’t look at me that way,
Things are hard enough the way that they are,
And every time I see that look on your face…
Baby it’s hard, baby it’s hard,
Baby it’s hard – baby it’s so hard
Well I know that I’ve made a few too many
Mistakes and I can’t hold up to them all.
Maybe I’m just way too macho -
That kind of confidence is easy to fake…
But baby it’s hard, baby it’s hard,
Baby it’s hard – baby it’s so hard
Well I know that I’ve made a few too many
Mistakes and I can’t hold up to them all.
Maybe I’m just way too eager -
That kind of macho is easy to break…
Baby don’t look at me that way,
Things are hard enough the way that they are,
And every time I see that look on your face,
Baby it’s hard not to love you.

Pass Us By
03:38
|
|||
I met her in winter, when snow covered the ground.
She came to me, said she knew me from around.
And when sat at my table, I sighed.
Then I let the winter pass us by.
Later, in springtime, I puffed-out my cheeks,
I was scared that she would not remember me,
So, I asked her to come over and I hoped she would stay.
That was springtime and it got away.
And in the summer it was wonderful,
She was so good to me,
And, you know, I loved her so,
Then the summer too, it passed us by.
Now it is autumn and I love her still.
But next year - I’m thinking about leaving this town.
And I told my baby, and she broke down and cried.
Soon autumn will end and winter will arrive.
Soon autumn will end and winter will arrive.

Where Are You Tonight?
04:44
|
|||
Showed up late this one night,
I threw tennis balls at your window
But you were asleep.
So I knocked on your door,
And your mother answered,
She was surprised to see me there.
She said you’ve been having nightmares,
That you’d been talking in your sleep,
I heard you whisper down the hall.
And you said,
“Where are you tonight?”
I’ve seen angels of blue and white
I said,
“Where are you tonight?”
I’ve seen angels of blue,
Angels of blue and white
So I went into your room,
I closed the door behind me and I
Told you that I wouldn’t leave you.
And you said,
“Where are you tonight?”
I’ve seen angels of blue and white
I said,
“Where are you tonight?”
I’ve seen angels of blue,
Angels of blue and white
So where are you tonight?
I said, where are you tonight?
I said, where are you tonight?
I’ve seen angels of blue…
“Where are you tonight?”
I’ve seen angels of blue and white
I said,
“Where are you tonight?”
I’ve seen angels of blue,
Angels of blue and white…
